富豪奧林比安空調 Volvo Olympian A/C
瑞典富豪於一九八八年四月向英國利蘭作出收購後，除了若干利蘭巴士型號從此可以選配富豪動力外，亦都整合了兩者相類似的產品，最終富豪計劃將利蘭位於Workington的生產基地自一九九一年十二月起闗閉，各款利蘭巴士亦從此停產，唯獨奧林比安是一個例外。面對大量來自本土及海外的利蘭奧林比安新車訂單，富豪不得將關閉廠房計劃推遲，為的就是完成上述訂單。同一時間富豪亦安排奧林比安生產線遷移至蘇格蘭Irvine並進行改良，首批樣板車於一九九二年底至九三年初製作完成，香港成為首個獲得照顧的地方，率先試用三軸版的富豪奧林比安 。至於新加坡市場方面，新加坡巴士公司在更新車隊時不作他想，仍然以奧林比安作首選，於是從一九九四年開始向富豪招手購買奧林比安，當中首張訂單包括一百部兩軸版本及二百零一部三車軸空調版本新車。
從往日購車習慣而言，新加坡巴士是次訂購三軸版富豪奧林比安數目並非整數出現，可以估計當中包括一架作樣板車。整體規格方面，首先新車仍舊以十二米版本出現，車身沿用英國亞歷山大的Royale型，並全數於新加坡完成車身裝嵌，外觀上與原先利蘭時代產品如岀一轍，載客量方面同樣提供上層五十五人座位分及下層三十八人座位，企位數目為三十八個，合共可運載一百三十一名乘客。在首一百架新車中，上層左右兩邊分別設有一扇太平窗以供緊急時使用，同時是新加坡唯一一批設有太平窗的雙層巴士。至於機械方面，新加坡巴士公司未有跟隨香港同業，繼續採用康明斯引擎作動力，反而替新車配置了原廠TD102KF引擎，而全自動波箱則仍舊與利蘭奧林比安一樣，沿用德國的ZF出品，空調系統方面由這批新車開始，採用了德國超卓的產品並同樣依靠主引擎驅動。富豪奧林比安自一九九四年六月投入服務，並繼續以「Super Bus」形象示人，進一步擴展新加坡空調巴士服務。
新加坡巴士公司於一九九六年更新車隊時，向富豪招手購買三百一十五架新車，當中包括二百架富豪奧林比安「Super Bus」，全數車身由新加坡巴士公司位於后港的裝嵌廠組裝，首兩架新車於一九九六年八月投入服務。與首批新車比較，是批新車首先採用了方形車頭大燈，同時取消了位於車身外側的太平門，自此成為往後新車的標準。另外，新加坡巴士公司亦由這批富豪奧林比安開始，車尾採用全密封形式出現，以提供一個理想的廣告刊登平台。車廂方面，這個訂單批次新車全數採用黃色扶手，車廂配色亦較上一批較為明亮，而載客量則只有一百三十人，數字上的分別源於下層減少一個座位。機械配搭方面，第二批新車大致沿用前一批成員的配置，只是排在隊末五十架新車，採用了日本電裝提供的空調系統。首兩批富豪奧林比安於稍後時間，下層外側四排合共八個座位被移除，以增加企位數目至分別為五十四及五十五人，總載客量因而睇齊至達一百三十九人。
為配合新加坡東北區盛港新巿鎮一帶發展，新加坡巴士公司於一九九八年向富豪發出最後一張奥林比安新車訂單，採購七十架新車供擴展路線網絡之用，新車交付期由一九九九年三月至二零零零年年底為止。這批「Super Bus」新車打從投入服務時，下層已經採用多企位佈局，全車載客量為上層五十五人座位，下層二十九個座位及五十五個企位。儘管當時富豪已經提供符合歐盟二型排放的D10A引擎，新加坡巴士公司仍舊選配只是歐盟一型排放標準的TD102KF引擎，以便利零件儲存，至於波箱及空調系統則仍舊是ZF及超卓供應。
在低地台巴士加入車隊前，全數奧林比安「Super Bus」都是車隊中一個重要組成部份並在每條主幹路線上擔當重任，當新加坡巴士公司於一九九九年開始引進低地台雙層巴士時候，儘管採用另一款車身色彩，但仍然繼續稱之為「Super Bus」，由此可以推測由這六百多架奧林比安空調巴士所建立的品牌形象，是如何深入每一位新加坡市民心中。隨著新加坡巴士公司於二零零一年改稱新捷運時，全數奧林比安除了被翻油以紫白紅作基調的全新車隊色彩外，同時未有保留「Super Bus」這個品牌，原先車身上的標誌改成了新捷運的商標。踏入新捷運時代，最後一批富豪奧林比安亦隨著電子路線牌於車隊普及時，於二零零九年開始陸續安裝LECIP電子路線牌箱，令到它們更容易與頭兩批成員區分出來。
新加坡的巴士服務自二零一六年九月一日開始改以政府合約模式運作，但富豪奧林比安未有因這個改變而加入其他營運商車隊，直到二零一七年十二日二十五日最後一架奧林比安退役時候，仍然全數由新捷運營運。在全數富豪奧林比安退役之後，標誌著對當日改善新加坡公共交通有著重要角色，深入民心的「Super Bus」正式寫入歷史名冊之中，而富豪隨後憑藉B9TL繼續保持著於新加坡公共巴士的領導地位。
After the acquisition of Leyland Bus in Apr., 1988, Volvo decided to close the Workington plant in Dec., 1991 and all Leyland product but Olympian, would be ceased to production. However, as bulk orders from local and overseas operators, Workington plant finally forced to close in early 1993. Volvo first launched the modified Olympian chassis manufactured in Irvine in 1992 and the first few 3-axle prototype were delivered to Hong Kong for evaluation. After took delivery of the Leyland Olympian "Super Bus", SBS introduced a total of 201 Volvo Olympian 12m 3-axle air-conditioned for expansion of it air-conditioned fleet in 1994, the odd one of the batch can be considered as a pilot chassis for evaluation .
Walter Alexander was awarded for supplying bodyworks again with the Royale type to be completed locally and overall capacity was 131 passengers (55 upper seatings with 38 lower seatings plus 38 standees), same as the Leyland Olympian "Super Bus". Emergency exit was fitted in both nearside and offside upper deck windows on the first 100 Volvo Olympian and this was unique in Singapore. In contrast to the Hong Kong operator's choice, Volvo TD102KF engine was fitted instead of the Cummins while ZF fully automatic transmission was retained. The air-conditioning unit still driven by powertrain but the supplier was changed to Sutrak from Germany. The first three Volvo Olympian "Super Bus" were registered on 10 Jun., 1994 and the air-conditioned bus networks of SBS was then further strengthened.
SBS placed another 200 Volvo Olympian for fleet renewal and first two were entered service in Aug.,1996 after their bodyworks to be completed at Houggang bus assembly workshop by SBS. The second batch Volvo Olympian featured with rectangular headlights and no more emergency exit at the offside of the lower deck, a standard for the public bus in Singapore afterwards. In addition, no window at the rear and hence a good space available for advertising. A new colour combination such as the yellow-coloured handrails resulted in a brighter compartment. Overall capacity was reduced to 130 as only 37 seatings provided in the lower deck. This batch of 200 Volvo "Super Bus" shared the same mechanical specification except for the last 50 of the batch, Nippon Denso air-conditioning units was chosen. The overall capacity of the first two batches of Volvo Olympian was increased to 139 as a result of number of standees changed from 38 to 54 or 55 with removal of 4 sets of double-seats at the offside.
The development of the Sengkang new town at the North-east part of Singapore resulted in SBS purchased the last 70 Olympian for service expansion to be delivered between Mar., 1999 and Dec., 2000. Large standing area already provided when new and their shared the same layout as the second batch after modification. Euro 2 standard D10A engine was the standard at that time, however, for the ease of parts storage, TD102KF complied with Euro 1 standard still fitted coupled with ZF gearbox and Sutrak air-conditioning
Both Leyland and Volvo Olympian "Super Bus" played an important role before the commissioned of the super low floor and it was a common sight for observing them on any trunk services. Even SBS introduced another livery for the super low floor double deckers, they still branded as"Super Bus" and this was a strong evidence that how popular for the service in Singapore. SBS was re-branded as SBS Transit on 1 Nov., 2001 and "Super Bus" brand was dropped as a result of a new style SBS Transit livery launched. As the widespread of the electronic route display, SBS started to installed the LECIP display on the final batch of Volvo Olympian in 2009 and made this to be the outstanding features among the previous two batches.
All Volvo Olympian remained in SBS Transit after introduction of BCM and the last one was withdrawn on 25 Dec., 2017 and after their fully retired from the public bus market in Singapore, Volvo still playing a leading role with B9TL introduced since 2005.
