平治 Citaro (O530) Mercedes Benz Citaro (O530)

號稱全東南亞首款全低地台單層巴士,平治Citaro(O530)於二零一零年抵達新加坡,首架新車由SMRT擁有,車牌SMB136C,除了全低地台設計,跟早前引進的OC500LE一樣,新巴士亦符合歐五排放標準。為了宣傳這款新巴士,SMB136C披上全車身廣告,以及於網站設置專頁供乘客對新車發表意見。隨著新車表現滿意,SMRT於二零一一年分兩批引進合共五十架Citaro,新車甫一投入服務便迅即投入各主幹路線行走。量產型Citaro跟樣板車SMB136C有若干分別,最為明顯是後門採用外趟式中門。

另一邊廂,為了替換車隊中日漸老舊的巴士,新捷運亦訂購了平治Citaro,成為繼平治O405之後,兩巴同時營運的車款,而且數量凌架於SMRT之上,總數為三百架。首架新車於二零一一年年初抵達新加坡,首兩架新車於二零一一年四月二十六日作首次登記,經過一輪測試及訓練,於六月一日投入服務行走往返淡濱尼及大巴窟的28路線。跟SMRT新車最大分別為車尾路線牌箱擺放位置。

SMRT introduced first Singapore Mercedes Benz Citaro (O530), the first South-east Asia's Euro 5 full low floor bus, in 2010 and registered as SMB136C. To promote the features of Citaro, SMB136C was decorated with an allover advertisement and a special page was established in the website of SMRT. Further orders of Mercedes Benz Citaro were made and totally 50 Citaros started to deliver to SMRT since the first quarter of 2011. There are some differences between the production unit and the demonstrator like plug door was chosen while SMB136C using the traditional sliding door.

SBS Transit, another bus operator in Singapore, placed an order of 300 Mercedes Benz Citaro in 2010 as a part of fleet renewal scheme. This made after the Mercedes Benz O405, both SBS Transit and SMRT operated the same bus model. The most obvious differences between SBS and SMRT Citaros is the position of rear route display. SBS received the first Citaro in early 2011 and the first two were registered on 26, Apr., 2011. After a series of trial and training, SBS Citaro first served route 28 running between Tampines and Toa Payoh on 1, Jun., 2011.
