利蘭勝利二型 Leyland Victory Mk 2

於一九九八年三月三十一日,新世界第一巴士有限公司(下稱新巴),正式獲政府授予經營八十八條原由中巴經營之巴士路線,專營權由同年九月一日零時零分起生效。面對只得不足半年之籌備時間,實難以以一支全新車隊去服務乘客,所以新巴只好向中巴購入原中巴之車隊,以應付所需,當中數目最多之車款就是本文之主角─利蘭勝利二型。
中巴共購入一百六十七架勝利二型,分別配亞歷山大及都普車身,除了三架遭人惡意破壞而需提早退役,其餘勝利二型,均轉投新巴,而在新巴時代,所有勝利二型都是用作後備車,支援其他路線,而所有新巴勝利二型更未嘗全數於同一日出動服務乘客。到了後期,部份配亞歷山大車身之勝利二型,更被鬆上新巴標準色彩,新巴色彩之勝利二型足跡遍佈赤柱,石澳及南區路線。由於所有勝利二型已經有相當車齡,加上新巴空調化計劃快速進行,所有勝利二型由九八年尾開始大規模退役,而最後一架勝利二型LV30更被鬆上特別車身色彩,用作二零零零年八月三十一日,紀念新巴勝利二型正式退役之主角,而隨新巴所有勝利二型退下火線,香港再沒有勝利二型服務廣大市民。
On 31, Aug, 1998, New World First Bus Company (as NWFB in this passage), was successfully acquired the franchise of operating 88 bus routes that previous operated by CMB from the government. This franchise was effective from 1, Sept, 1998. As there was only about half of year for preparation, it was impossible for NWFB provides bus service with a entire brand new fleet, as a result, NWFB had to buy buses from CMB to meet the need. The largest fleet that bought from CMB were the Leyland Victory MK 2.
There were 167 Victory MK 2 in CMB fleet and 3 of them were withdrawn due to fire damage, other Victorys were all transferred to NWFB. In the age of NWFB, all Victorys were used for reserve and all of them were never in service together on the same day when they were as members of NWFB fleet. Later, some Alexander bodied Victorys were painted with standard NWFB livery and mainly deployed on the routes serving Stanley, Shek O and the Southern district. Since all Victorys were about 15 years old and the NWFB replaced those non air-con. buses with new super low floor air -con. buses, the Victory was withdrawn in phase since the end of 1998. To commemorate the contribution of the Victory, NWFB repainted the last Victory in service LV30 with a special livery and used it as the main character in the commemorate ceremony on 31, Aug, 1999. After that day, there are no Victorys serving passengers in Hong Kong.
