繼成功「侵略」港島,九龍新界,以至邊境地區,丹尼士飛鏢亦再進一步登陸大嶼山,不過這次車主並不是嶼巴,而是愉景灣交通服務有限公司。
愉景灣向丹尼士購入首架丹尼士飛鏢於一九九七年抵港,儘管當時其他巴士公司已經引進一定數目的低地台版本飛鏢,但這架飛鏢仍是標準版本,乘客進出車廂仍需攀爬一級梯級。在全長九點二米的底盤上,配上Plaxton Pointer車身,雖然在那個時候本港的飛鏢新車,除了雅高巴士配廣州穗景車身的樣板車外,全數都是配用Plaxton車身,但是在短小的車身,愉景灣採取了雙門安排,這個配搭在本港標準版飛鏢巴士來說,不單是首次採取此種安排,亦是唯一一架採取這款安排的飛鏢巴士。
當這架飛鏢巴士登陸愉景灣後,獲得HKR121車隊編號及鬆上橙白為主的購物專線色彩後,便取代了經改裝的三菱Rosa巴士服務購物專線。由於服務對象是往返區內購物的傭工,所以HKR121車內只設有十九個座位,企位達三十九個之多,並設有行李架方便乘客。在投入服務初期,HKR121車頭只設有一個路線號碼牌箱,未有任何位置提供目的地資料,車尾亦不設牌箱,直到二零零四年愉景灣取消所有購物專線,才替HKR121翻鬆綠白為主的車身色彩同時,改配足以一併提供目的地及路線編號資料的電子牌箱,而車尾亦加設一個路線號碼牌箱。
在不久之後,低地台版的飛鏢巴士亦出現於愉景灣,成為區內首批低地台巴士。兩架鬆上愉景灣色彩的十點七米版低地台飛鏢巴士,於一九九七年九月連同城巴首架三叉戟一同運抵本港。這兩架低地台飛鏢跟較早時間抵港的城巴同型新車一樣,都是採用Plaxton Pointer車身,不同地方是城巴早已經選取雙門設計,愉景灣在這兩架新車則維持單門安排。愉景灣將兩架低地台飛鏢編作HKR116及HKR117,載客量為四十五人座位及二十四人位,新車甫一投入服務已經裝有全幅路線牌布。雖說是低地台巴士,但車廂並未有任何位置供輪椅停泊,更遑論供輪椅進出車廂的斜板。
一九九九年,為進一步取代車隊購物專線的三菱Rosa,再有飛鏢加入愉景灣。兩輛配Plaxton Pointer 2型雙門車身,車隊編號HKR5及HKR27的丹尼士飛鏢低地台巴士登陸愉景灣,這次長度較車隊中首架飛鏢巴士長零點一米,車廂裡大部份位置留作企位及設有行李架,配合行走購物專線需要。路線牌則跟同期新巴新車一樣,路線牌是電子號碼牌箱配目的地牌布,車身色彩則是橙白色的購物專線塗裝。
五架飛鏢巴士在愉景灣車隊角色未有太大改變,只是當購物專線取消後,HKR5及HKR27跟HKR121一樣,翻鬆新版的愉景灣綠白車身色彩,改為行走區內短途路線。至於兩架長陣飛鏢,除了翻鬆車身色彩,愉景灣亦在拆除一排座椅後,加設一個行李架。四架低地台飛鏢在稍後時間,原有路線牌箱亦陸續被更換成電子路線牌箱。配合更新企業形象,五架飛鏢車隊編號由HKR開首改成DBAY,除DBAY121,其餘四架飛鏢換上紫白色的「Dbay」企業色彩。
二零一四年四月,愉景灣交通服務有限公司新購入的亞歷山大丹尼士飛鏢E200投入服務,取替了包括兩架配Plaxton Pointer 2型車身的低地台飛鏢(DBAY5及DBAY27),而到了同年十二月,當政府資助購買的華廈神龍電動巴士投入服務,亦標誌著兩架十點七米版低地台飛鏢(DBAY116及117)從車隊中退役,同時當日最早投入服務的飛鏢,成為車隊中最後一架離開的飛鏢巴士。DBAY121一直留守於愉景灣,作為車隊中年資最高的巴士,最終到二零一七年三月由全新的飛鏢E200取代,為丹尼士飛鏢於愉景灣車隊歷史中寫下一個句號。
除了Plaxton車身飛鏢,因應新訂購巴士未能及時付運,二零零四年七月開始,向城巴租用配Carlyle車身的丹尼士飛鏢應付需要,先後有四架飛鏢曾經駛進愉景灣,當中編號1485更披上愉景灣車隊色彩,最後一架城巴飛鏢於二零零五年十月退回城巴,而這批飛鏢亦於不久之後退役。
It was not too difficult to answer how success of Dennis Dart in Hong Kong, the Dart can be seen anywhere in Hong Kong and DBTSL followed the step of other franchised operators, placed it first order for Dennis Dart in 1996.
The first Dennis Dart was delivered to Discovery Bay in 1997 and it was unique in Hong Kong. This Dennis Dart was 9.2m in length with Plaxton Pointer dual-door designed bodywork and though Dart SLF already popular in Hong Kong, this sample still step-entranced. DBTSL classed this Dennis Dart as HKR121 and deployed on the Shoppers' Bus service after decorated with the designated orange and white livery.
Luggage rack was provided with large area for standees, as a result only 19 seats were fitted. As mainly for Shoppers' Bus service, only route display shown on the dot-matrix box and no rear route number display provided. Refurbishment was carried out after the cancellation of Shoppers' Bus, the route display was changed to electronic and large enough to show both route number and destination. To go one step further, a route number display was applied at the rear and simplified green and white livery was painted.
The Dennis Dart SLF finally appeared in Discovery Bay which was the first super low floor bus in this low density residential areas. A pair of Dennis Dart SLF 10.7m bodied by Plaxton with their successful Pointer bodyworks, were arrived Hong Kong together with the first Dennis Trident delivered to City Bus in Sep., 1997. Unliked the same model acquired by City Bus, single door was fitted and total 69 passengers can be carried. One point had to be noticed was no any ramp and parking bay for wheelchair. After licensed they were numbered as HKR116 and 117 with cotton route display can show both destination and route number fitted.
As areplacement for Mitsubishi Rosa on the Shoppers' Bus, a further 2 Dennis Dart SLF 9.3m were introduced in 1999. This time Plaxton Pointer 2 dual-door bodyworks chosen and fleet number was HKR5 and HKR27 respectively. To meet the need of Shoppers' Bus, the interior design followed the pattern of HKR121 with a luggage rack provided, and can carry up to 33 standing passengers. The route display same as the one fitted on Dennis Dart of NWFB at that time, route number display in electronic dot-matrix box while destination shown by cotton display. This pair of Dennis Dart SLF were painted with the standard orange and white Shoppers' Bus livery.
After the withdrawal of the Shoppers' Bus, HKR 5 and 27 were repainted the same livery applied on HKR121 and deployed on the short-distanced service. While HKR116 and 117, except repainted the simplified livery, a luggage rack was placed and the seating was reduced from 45 to 43. In addition, the original destination box of all Dennis Dart SLF were replaced with electronic display. Not only the fleet number prefix changed from HKR to DBAY to cope with the new image of Discovery Bay, but also the livery were repainted to the new "Dbay" colour scheme except DBAY121.
All Dennis Dart SLF in DBTSL were retired in 2014 with the Plaxton Pointer 2 variant, DBAY5 and DBAY27, were replaced by the Alexander Dennis Enviro200Dart in Apr., 2014 while those 10.7m with Pointer bodywork, DBAY116 and DBAY117, their place were taken over by the GDEV electric bus subsidized by the HKSAR Government in Dec., 2014. It was quite surprised that the first Dennis Dart in Discovery Bay was the last to be withdrawn in Mar., 2017 after the delivery of further two Enviro200Dart.
From Jul., 2004, 4 Dennis Dart with Carlyle bodyworks were on loan to DBTSL as a solution to the shortage of fleet. Though all of them were not operate in Discovery Bay at the same time, they were still carry the "HKR" fleet number and one of them, 1485 was also painted with the DBTSL livery. The last Dennis Dart was returned to City Bus in Oct., 2005 and soon retired after their return.
