丹尼士飛鏢

丹尼士飛鏢在城巴車隊中絕對可以稱得上係一款傳奇車款。從標準地台版本到首架雙門低地台版本，再到今天購自新巴的「新」飛鏢巴士；又再從專利巴士，返到非專利巴士，都是使人嘖嘖稱奇。
飛鏢在香港巿場中絕對是一款非常成功的車款，在港九各處不難發現飛鏢巴士的蹤影。城巴於一九九五年首次引進二十一輛飛鏢巴士，配上首次出現的Plaxton Pointer車身，作接辦十四條中巴路線所用。而Plaxton Pointer車身亦成為日後各巴士公司為飛鏢所選配的標準規格。隨後於一九九七年，城巴再引進十五架全港首批配雙門版Pointer低地台飛鏢。三十六架飛鏢巴士先後因車隊配額限制而要退役，以便令其他擁有更大載客量的巴士投入服務，全數飛鏢巴士亦被運返英國Stagecoach子公司服役。
相信不少人，包括筆者在內，可會想到飛鏢巴士再次出現於城巴車隊中，而且還要是已有十二年車齡，配Carlyle車身的丹尼士飛鏢巴士。
在二零零三年，可說是香港巴士歷史中最重要的一年，新巴不斷出售手上剩餘的巴士(到了二零零四年情況依舊，不少新巴巴士被轉售到外國及其他巴士公司)，當中城巴購入九架配歐盟三型引擎的十二米三叉戟，還包括十架飛鏢巴士。十架飛鏢巴士都是於九一年由中巴購入，用作行走赤柱路線，車隊編制為DC，並於九八年中巴專營權結束時，再由新巴購入。早於二零零二年中，全數二十架DC從新巴載客車隊中引退，並待在車廠好一段時間，最終有十架飛鏢巴士幸運地被城巴購入，再度肩負運載乘客的責任。
十架飛鏢迅即被安排鬆上城巴標準色彩，並且換上城巴標準的電子側牌及尾牌箱。至於車廂內部則依然保留新巴時代的模樣，亦即接受完翻新工程後的模樣。唯一不同的是，今天城巴飛鏢是服務於非專利車隊，而以往的飛鏢則是服務於專利路線上。事實上，城巴購進三手的飛鏢巴士主要是接替賣往英國的利蘭奧林比安十一米空調巴士，而因應非專利及過境路線網絡不斷萎縮，購入飛鏢巴士實在是一個不錯的選擇。
十架飛鏢巴士在投入服務後主力行走於沙田第一城及嘉湖山莊路線，除了接替利蘭奧林比安，也接替富豪B10M客車。另外，1481及1485兩架飛鏢巴士自二零零四年中被愉景灣交通服務有限公司租用，當中1485更被改鬆上愉景灣交通服務有限公司色彩。隨著非專利車隊需求減少，丹尼士飛鏢已經陸續退下火線，城巴只保留1482，1483及1488，主要用作私人租賃，以及執行沙田第一城居民巴士服務的任務。
不幸地二零一二年九月，1482於執行英基學校學童接送服務時發生火警，有關行車牌照一直留待至二零一四年二月才正式取消，至於餘下兩架飛鏢巴士則一直行走至二零一五年十二月，隨著政府收緊有關商用車環保條例而退役，並由兩輛改裝成單門的猛獅NL262取代。

model in City Bus fleet. From the standard Plaxton Pointer body to dual-door
version Plaxton Pointer SLF Dart, and at present, the 'new ' comer from NWFB and from franchised to non-franchised.
It is easily to find Dennis Dart in
different operators around Hong Kong. City Bus first introduced Dart with
Pointer bodies in 1995 to meet the expansion of networks after took over 14
routes from CMB. Afterwards, Plaxton Pointer become the standard bodywork for
Dart in Hong Kong. City Bus took further 14 dual-door version Dart SLFs and which is first
appeared in Hong Kong. Due to
the restriction on the number of fleet imposed by the Government, these 36 Darts
were shipped back to England and serving passengers under the subsidiary of
Stagecoach.
The return of Dennis Dart in City
Bus shocked many people including the author. In 2003, a historical time in Hong
Kong Bus history, NWFB sold many surplus buses to other bus operators or other
countries (same thing still happen in 2004). City Bus not only bought 9 Dennis Tridents fitted
with Euro 3 engine from NWFB but also 10
"third-hand" Darts. This batch of Dart actually was purchased by CMB
in 1991 and classed as DC for serving Stanley routes. After the took over of
franchised from CMB, NWFB bought all DCs and carried out the cabin refurbishments.
All of the DC was withdrawn from service in mid of 2002 while 10 of them,
fortunately, had their new life with City Bus in 2003.
After painted with the standard
City Bus livery, they were soon put into service serving City One Sha Tin
and Kingswood Villa non-franchised routes. In fact, those DC purchased from NWFB
were used to replace the Leyland Olympian and Volvo B10M as the contraction of
networks in the non-franchised and cross -border sectors. In mid of 2004, two of
the DC (1481 and 1485) in City Bus were hired to Discovery Bay transit and 1485,
also painted with the livery of DB Transit.
As less demand for the non-franchised service, City Bus started to abandon it Dennis Dart and only 3 Darts remained in the fleet by Jul., 2010 and mainly used on private hiring and serving residential service of City One Sha Tin. Unfortunately, 1482 was retired due to serious damage caused by fire in Sep., 2012 and it was finally deregistered in Feb., 2014. The remaining two Dart (1483 and 1488) still on the road until the the government tighten the commercial vehicles emission policy in the end of 2015.
