ZK6180HGH Yutong ZK6180HGH

編號 Class:YL

In Apr., 2016, New Era requested Yutong sent a pair of demonstrators to Macau, a 13m 3-axles single decker and a 18m articulated bus, to test their suitability of the Macau operation environment. As both demonstrators were left-hand drive, they never used on revenue service for evaluation. The evaluation result of the articulated bus was satisfactoried even under the narrow road conditions of Macau.

The very first articulated bus for the Macau public bus market, however, was introduced by Transmac. The model of the articulated bus was Yutong ZK6180HGH and it was not only the longest public bus with highest carrying capacity, but also the one with the shortest time awaiting for registration. After delivery on 29 Nov., 2017, it was immediately sent for examination and first registered on 2 Dec., 2017. Transmac first arranged this articulated bus as driver trainer until 6 Jan., 2018, supporting the high demand route 51 linking between AV. Vale Das Borboletas / Terminal and Portas do Cerco during rush hours.

The appearance of Transmac Yutong ZK6180HGH was same as those running in Taichung and it was powered by a Euro 5 Cummins engine with ZF fully automatic gearbox. The articulation system linking the front and rear portion was supplied by HÜBNER from Germany. Same as the ZK6128HG in the fleet, an emergency glass breaking system was installed and wood-effect floor and USB chargers can be seen on the articulated bus as other new buses.

This articulated bus still unique in Macau and neither Transmac nor T.C.M would place further order in the near future. It was still need sometime to prove whether articulated bus is suitable for the operation environment of Macau. Instead of the schedule route, this Yutong ZK8180HGH also once supported route 25AX and 51X.
