二零一一年八月當新巴士營運模式於澳門實施時,多條澳門街高客量主幹路線例如1,3及10,都被收歸於最新的營運商維澳蓮運旗下,而維澳蓮運亦安排了車隊中載客量最高的巴士,宇通生產的ZK6118HGE低地台巴士作為上述路線的主力,只可惜維澳蓮運在運載能力方面,尤其以1號及3號線而言,較前任營運者新福利明顯力有不逮。在二零一一年八月之前,兩條路線都是使用長達十二米的海格巴士行走,儘管這些海格巴士設計較宇通仍流於傳統,乘客上落車時需要攀爬梯級,但無可否認其龐大載客量,較只長十點五米的宇通巴士,更能有效應付有關路線的客流量。

二零一三年九月,宇通運來一架原擬提供予香港九巴試用,長達十二米的ZK6128HG1樣板車,供維澳蓮運作試驗評估。這架樣板車未有獲得正式登記,只是獲得一個臨時車牌T360,並獲得緊接著原有ZK6118HGE的車隊編號3088。維澳蓮運向公眾宣傳這是一架全新歐五排放的十二米低地台測試車,擁有特低地台,升降系統及車門斜板方便上落。不過,這架樣板巴士抵達澳門之後,一直未有作載客測試,直到不同團體要求下才於同年十一月初,安排在3號路線行走。好景不常,這架樣板車作營運測試不久,維澳蓮運便宣告破產,而這架樣板車最終被退回宇通。

當新時代接管維澳蓮運後,便立即向宇通訂購新巴士,作為改善過往為人詬病的服務質素,當中包括二十五架十二米的ZK6128HGE,以應付部份高客量路線需要。對比先前來澳作示範的樣板車,新時代這批宇通新車外貌,與行走於台北巿宇通的低地台大型單層巴士如出一轍,動力配搭方面亦由樣板車的康明斯引擎,改為標準的玉柴產品,符合歐四排放標準,全自動波箱則來自Allison,整體機械規格與同期自家及澳巴引入的宇通新車一樣。

宇通ZK6128HGE車廂內部自上車門開始,直至車尾位置都是設計成低地台區域,不僅對有需要乘客帶來最大方便,而且更能鼓勵乘客步入車尾位置。載客量方面,雖然仍然未能打破新福利海格KLQ6126G的紀錄,只能夠運載八十四名乘客,但對比本身的十點五米宇通巴士,已經多運載九到十六人,加上低地台設計,有利行走高載客量,而同時以短途乘客為主的路線。

全數宇通ZK6128HGE自二零一四年十一月起陸續付運到澳門,完成驗車等程序後,於二零一四年十二月下旬開始至二零一五年一月領牌投入服務,目前整批巴士主要行走於3,3X及10路線,在新馬路一帶不難發現它們的蹤影。

In Aug ., 2011, when the new mode of bus service was introduced to Macau, several trunk routes with high patronage like 1, 3 and 10 were transferred to the latest bus operator, Reolian. Reolian already allocated it highest capacity bus model Yutong ZK6118HGE low floor on these services, however, this model only 10.5m long and can only carry 68 passengers, they cannot relief the demand, especially for route 1 and 3, as the Higer 12m step-entranced bus did in the Transmac era with 90 passengers can be carried.

Yutong first prepared a ZK6128HG1 12m full-sized super low floor demonstrator to KMB for evaluation in 2012, this bus is powered by a Cummins engine with ZF fully automatic gearbox. After KMB refused to evaluate, Yutong then arranged this demonstrator to Macau in Sep ., 2013 and decorated with the standard Reolian livery. During the time in Macau, this demonstrator only received a temporary license number T360 and Reolian classed it as 3088, following the ZK6118HGE fleet number. Reolian promoted this demonstrator as a brand new 12m super low floor bus complied with Euro 5 emission standard, equipped with kneeing system and ramp. This ZK6128HG1 prototype never started any evaluation on revenue service until pressure imposed by different parties and finally deployed on route 3 running between Jetfoil and Portas do Cerco since Nov., 2013. The bus never get any success in Macau as Reolian declared bankrupt afterwards and it was returned to Yutong finally.

When the entire networks of Reolian was taken over by New Era, a batch of new buses included 25 ZK6128HGEs was acquired from Yutong as one of the move to improve the service standard. In contrast to the ZK6128HG1, the appearance of ZK6128HGE is same as the Yutong operated in Taipei. All of the ZK6128HGE are powered by Euro 4 standard Yuchai engine with Allison fully automatic gearbox, the standard combination in both New Era and TCM fleet.

The low floor area of the ZK6128HGE started from the entrance until the rear part of the cabin, not only offer the most convenience to commuters but also encourage passengers moving into the cabin. Carrying capacity of Yutong ZK6128HGE is 84 passengers with 26 seats offered and carry 9 to 16 passengers more than the ZK6118HGE.

All ZK6128HGE were delivered to Macau since Nov ., 2014 and registered for service between the end of Dec ., 2014 and Jan ., 2015. Since they are suitable for service with high demand and frequent loading, New Era deployed the ZK6128HGE mainly on route 3, 3X and 10 running along the Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro.
