進智公交 AMSPT

進智公交是香港第二大的專線小巴營運商,其品牌口號為「進取之道,智慧每步」。進智公交前身是香港仔專線小巴,創立於一九七五年,為本港第二家的專線小巴營運商。進智公交的英文名稱AMS由來正是昔日公司英文名稱Aberdeen Maxicab Service的縮寫,自二零零四年起,正式改名成進智公交並於港交所上巿,亦是芸芸香港小巴營運商中,唯一一家於香港股票巿場上巿的公司。

從其舊有公司名字可以得知,AMS發源地源於港島南區,一九七五年七月當香港仔專線小巴公司成立之初,三條路線(4,5及6 號)先後開辦,並且以特低車費作招徠,當中4號線更曾經試驗通宵行走,成為本港首條二十四小時服務的專線小巴路線。而到了一九八三年,香港仔專線小巴全線車隊,全是由帶有空調設備的小巴組成,是小巴業界中的第一家提供全空調服務的營運商。

除了繼續以香港仔作為營運基地,香港仔專線小巴在踏入九十年代時,積極擴充營運版圖,於一九九零年十二月,開辦首條非行走香港仔區的路線,往返荃灣及火炭的481特快小巴線,以及通宵行走的,同樣由荃灣出發,往返沙田巿中心的482路線。隨著這兩條路線成功,其後該公司更於兩年後,以另一公司名義下開闢另一條往返沙田及石籬區的403路線,而經過不斷發展下,上述路線開辦不同的分支路線,成為沙田往返荃葵區其中一樣主要公共交通工具。到了一九九九年,香港仔專線小巴成為本港首家,接受八達通繳付車資的小巴營運商。

二零零一年,香港仔專線小巴再創業界先河,與路訊通合作,於旗下車隊播放後者製作的節目,雖然這個合作關係只是維持了數年,但在二零一二年再與動感傳播合作,裝置電視機,為乘客提供多媒體娛樂。而於二零零一年九月,香港仔專線小巴成功收購了大埔專線小巴公司,進一步擴大版圖。而香港仔專線小巴另一個值得記下來的事,就是於翌年投得數碼港小巴路線69,採用客車版豐田Coaster作為車隊,而行走該線的小巴更是以全白色車身示人。二零零四年,對香港仔專線小巴公司別有意義,首先公司名稱改為進智公交,同時於港交所上市,股票代號77,這不難解釋進智公交擁有多輛以「77」作車牌的小巴。而在二零零六至一一年間,進智公交更曾一度染指過境巴士業務。

在車隊方面,雖然仍是以本港小型巴士主流型號:豐田Coaster作主力,不過另一款小巴型號三菱Rosa雖然數量未及對手,但於進智公交車隊亦穩佔一個席位。另外,,進智公交一直積極測試不同款式的另類燃料小巴,計有二零零零年測試豐田石油氣版Coaster及環力迅電動小巴,以及二零一三年十一月中開始,試驗全新的GMI Gemini混能小巴。

AMSPT (AMS), known as Aberdeen Maxicab Service before Mar, 2003, was established in 1975, is the second large Green minibuses (GMB) operator in Hong Kong and the only GMB operator listed in the Hong Kong stock market since 2004.

"Moving ahead with every wise step" is the motto of AMS and it is easy to know it was first founded in Aberdeen, the Southern Part of Hong Kong Island, from the previous company name. The first three routes (route 4, 5 and 6) of the company first entered service with bargain fare in Jul ., 1975 and route 4 once 24-hours operated, the first overnight GMB service in Hong Kong. Aberdeen Maxicab Service upgraded it fleet to full air conditioned in 1983 and it is the first full air conditioned GMB fleet in Hong Kong.

Since 1990s, though the base of Aberdeen Maxicab Service still in Aberdeen, it started expand it networks and the first service operates outside Aberdeen is route 481, linking Fo Tan and Tsuen Wan and the overnight service 482 between Tsuen Wan and Sha Tin Central. Another service operated from Shek Lei to Sha Tin with another brand name, 403 was introduced two years later after the success of both 481 and 482. More branch service of the routes mentioned above was commenced and become another public transport choice for commuters between Sha Tin and Tsuen Kwai area. As Octopus become more popular, Aberdeen Maxicab Service accept this payment method in 1999 and again, it is the first GMB operator to do so.

During 2001, Roadshow was allowed to broadcast their production in Aberdeen Maxicab Service and this is the first in GMB operator. The relationships among Aberdeen Maxicab Service and Roadshow was not last long and since 2012, AMS introduced mobile media again with Motion Media. The networks of Aberdeen Maxicab Service further expanded in Sep ., 2001 after the acquisition of Tai Po Minibus Service Co., Ltd. In 2002, we saw another milestone of Aberdeen Maxicab Service, the awarded of route 69 linking between Cyber Port and Quarry Bay and the fleet of route 69 is Toyota Coaster EX version decorated with outstanding all white livery. 2004 is a meaningful year for Aberdeen Maxicab Service, not only the name of the company changed into AMSPT, but also to be a listed company in HKEx and the stock number of AMS is "77", and this is good explanation of several minibuses with registration number 77 in the fleet. AMS once also invested on cross boarder bus service between 2006 and 2011.

The fleet of AMS is composed of Toyota Coaster and Mitsubishi Rosa and the former is already outnumbered in the Hong Kong minibus market. AMS is actively in evaluating minibus powered by alternative fuel, LPG version Toyota Coaster and Vicmax electric minibus were both first evaluated in 2000 while since Nov., 2013, the GMI Gemini hybrid minibus started to serve commuters for evaluation purpose.
